Côte d’Ivoire’s Teaching Manual (2007) provides in Book I (Basic instruction):
Wounded enemy combatants
8. Disarm them:
- take only objects of military use,
- theft is prohibited.
Côte d’Ivoire’s Penal Code (1981), as amended in 1998, provides for the punishment of “anyone who, in an area of military operations, plunders a wounded, sick [or] shipwrecked … person”.
