Practice Relating to Rule 100. Fair Trial Guarantees
Section H. Assistance of an interpreter
In 2005, in its second periodic report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child, Oman stated:
Access to the assistance of an interpreter
: The investigating authorities and the court are obliged to charge and hear the accused. His right to be heard presupposes his right to an interpreter if he does not speak Arabic so that he may exercise his rights and the court may perform its duties. This is the procedure in all courts.
