Section A. Release and return without delay
Zimbabwe’s Geneva Conventions Act (1981), as amended in 1996, punishes “any person, whatever his nationality, who, whether in or outside Zimbabwe, commits any such grave breach of … [the 1977 Additional Protocol I]”.
According to the Report on the Practice of Zimbabwe, it is the opinio juris
of Zimbabwe that persons detained by reason of their participation in an internal armed conflict should be released or repatriated without delay at the end of active hostilities.
