Section B. Granting of asylum to suspected war criminals
Mozambique’s Refugee Law (1991) states:
Impediments and loss of refugee status.
1. Shall not be considered as a refugee or shall lose such status:
a) anyone who has committed or is accused of having committed a crime against peace, a war crime or a crime against humanity, pursuant to the Mozambican penal legislation or international instruments signed [ratified] by the Republic of Mozambique with regard to the provision for such crimes.
