Summary
On 17 January 2012, the President of Guinea promulgated the Law No. 002/CNT/2011 establishing Code of Military Justice. The legislation aims to end impunity within armed forces of Guinea by providing for violations of the military order and applicable sanctions.
In particular, the Law states that military courts are competent to deal with violations against prisonners of war, laws and customs of war, international law, as well as related to the legislation on cluster munitions. Furthermore, it represses infractions against persons, objects and emblems protected by IHL treaties.
