National Implementation of IHL
Law L/95/019/CTRN on the use and protection of the emblem and name of the Red Cross Society of Guinea

This legislation governs the use of the emblem. It differentiates betweens identification and protection (Art. 2) and between use during war and in peacetime, and categorizes the beneficiaries and goods covered. The four 1949 Geneva Conventions are referred to in Article 4, but no mention is made of the 1977 Additional Protocols. The law also provides for the punishment of misuse of the emblem (Arts. 10 and 11). It is noteworthy in that it also refers to the duty to mark hospital zones and localities (Art. 9).
