National Implementation of IHL
Law on Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, 1993
Gazzetta Ufficiale

By publishing this law (a decree-law subsequently converted into law), Italy intended to comply with its obligation to cooperate with the International Tribunal as stipulated in United Nations resolution 827. It thus recognized the primacy of the International Criminal Tribunal and set forth how the Italian authorities must cooperate with the Tribunal. It also provided for the arrest and surrender of persons prosecuted, cooperation in the conduct of judicial investigations, the supply of information and the execution of the Court's sentences in Italy.
