On 3 August 2005, Senegal Parliament adopted a law to implement Senegal international obligations relating to Anti-personnel mines. Senegal ratified the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction on 23 September 1998. Sanctions relating to violation of the prohibitions listed in the Law are provided by Articles 5 to 7. Article 8 establishes a national commission in charge of the implementation of the Law and the Convention on Anti-Personnel Mines. Fact-finding missions are also foreseen by the law (Articles 10 to 15).
