Summary
The Supreme Court confirmed a decision of the Ontario Court of Appeal upholding a jury acquittal of Imre Finta. The Supreme Court recognized the constitutionality of the impugned war crimes provisions of the Criminal Code while establishing a high standard of proof for prosecution of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
